Marriage Allowance Calculator
Transfer £1,260 of unused allowance to your spouse or civil partner and cut their tax bill by up to £252.
How does Marriage Allowance work?
If one partner earns less than the £12,570 Personal Allowance and the other is a basic-rate taxpayer, the lower earner can transfer £1,260 of their allowance. That cuts the higher earner's tax bill by 20% of £1,260, or £252. You can also claim for up to four previous tax years if you were eligible.
Work out the effect on the higher earner's pay with the Income Tax Calculator.
